Telescopes for finding life in the universe – and studying the life of the universe

With a grant of DKK 10 million (approximately EUR 1.3 million) from a private foundation, Danish researchers can possibly find an answer to the important questions people have been asking at all times.

Aarhus University

The Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation has granted the funds for the SONG project, a collaboration between scientists at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Aarhus, and the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. SONG stands for Stellar Oscillations Network Group and the purpose of the project is to design an observatory that not only stands on one place on Earth, but rather consists of a network of telescopes distributed around the planet.
