Testimony from Bretagne Valorisation

Our participation in the BP contest 2006 was very stimulating, and we learned a lot from the other contestants. It is a rare occasion to compare, evaluate and validate innovative TTO structures with those of European colleagues.

The drafting of a BP allowed us to work in team to identify our strengths and persuade an audience. The label “Proton Europe award” has been used in many communications: stakeholders, colleagues, other TTOs…the messages of support from local, regional and national partners persuaded the founding members that they made the right decisions.

Since the award, BV has signed a charter with the partners of the economic regional development. BV has proved to its stakeholders that technology transfer can be federated at the regional level; 3 new members are joining the structure this year and BV has become a national reference in KTO structuring.

Our office has become the foundation stone of the European University of Brittany, a federation of Breton Universities aiming at playing a major international role.
